ভিক্ষাবৃত্তি হচ্ছে ক্ষতস্বরুপ
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
Acts of begging are lacerations with which a man disfigures his face, so he who wishes may preserve his self-respect, and he who wishes may abandon it; but this does not apply to one who begs from a ruler, or in a situation which makes it necessary.
Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 1635 Narrated by Samurah ibn Jundub
রাসুলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেন
ভিক্ষাবৃত্তি হচ্ছে ক্ষতস্বরুপ; এর দ্বারা মানুষ তার মুখমন্ডলকে ক্ষতবিক্ষত করে; সুতরাং যার ইচ্ছা হয় সে তার মুখকে এ অবস্থায় রাখতে পারে; আর যে চায় তা পরিহারও করতে পারে; তবে তবে রাষ্ট্রপ্রধানের কাছে অথবা এমন দুস্থ-অসহায় যার নিকট চাওয়া ব্যতীত গত্যন্তর নেই, সে চাইতে পারে.
